Gambardella was born from the passion for fine tailoring of its founder, Stefano Gambardella.
Raised in Ravello, on the Amalfi Coast, Stefano grew up surrounded by a world of natural beauty, refined lifestyle, and understated elegance. From an early age, he was fascinated by the gentlemen who came to the Amalfi Coast for their holidays — impeccably dressed, moving through its grand hotels, restaurants, and terraces with effortless style.
Their elegance was never forced. It felt natural, relaxed, and deeply sophisticated.
That feeling became the first inspiration behind Gambardella.
Where the Fascination Began
By the age of sixteen, Stefano had already developed a strong interest in menswear and personal style. Watching elegant men enjoying the Amalfi Coast — often arriving in luxury vintage cars and dressed with ease and character — left a lasting impression on him.
At the age of eighteen, he attended Pitti Uomo in Florence for the first time. It was a defining moment: a world where tailoring, craftsmanship, personality, and culture came together in a way that felt both inspiring and deeply familiar.
What had begun as admiration was slowly turning into a true passion.

From Admiration to understanding
After years of travelling and working internationally in the luxury hospitality industry, Stefano continued to refine his eye for elegance and service.
At around twenty-three years old, after returning from Australia, he began spending time in Naples, inside the workshop of a traditional tailor. There, he spent hours observing the process of handmade tailoring and discovering what truly lies behind a bespoke garment.
It was in Naples that he began to understand the essence of true sartorial craftsmanship: spalla a camicia, full-canvas construction, hand-finished details, balance, comfort, and the quiet precision that defines Neapolitan tailoring.
What he once admired from the outside, he was now learning from within.

For many years, Stefano cultivated his passion for tailoring, style, and the world of Neapolitan craftsmanship. Over time, that passion evolved into a clear vision: to create a brand that could express his personal interpretation of Italian elegance and bring it to gentlemen around the world.
That vision became Gambardella.
Today, the brand reflects the values that inspired it from the beginning: authentic craftsmanship, refined style, and a way of dressing that feels elegant yet relaxed.
